Reifsnider State Forest sits just south of Warrenton
Reifsnider State Forest gives Warren County a wooded public-land stop close to Warrenton and I-70.
Warren County is often read from I-70, but Reifsnider State Forest adds a quieter public-land layer just south of Warrenton. Missouri Department of Conservation describes the Frank, Emma, Elizabeth and Edna Reifsnider State Forest as a 1,388-acre area south of Warrenton and about an hour west of St. Louis.
MDC also notes that the North Fork of Charrette Creek, an intermittent stream, flows through the forest for about two miles. That creek detail gives the forest a local Warren County texture instead of making it sound like any wooded stop.
For a resident or visitor, Reifsnider is useful color because it connects Warrenton’s interstate edge to woods, creek bottom, and state-managed outdoor access nearby.
