Emergency management lists the county's local partners

Cape Girardeau County Emergency Management lists county departments, Cape Girardeau, Jackson, SEMO, and all county communities as partners.

Emergency planning in Cape Girardeau County is not one desk in one town. The county Office of Emergency Management works with county departments, Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Southeast Missouri State University, all county communities, and the Community Emergency Response Team.

A storm does not stop at the Jackson city line, and public information can move through more than one office. On quiet days, residents can sign up for urgent alerts and county news before the weather turns rough. After public property or infrastructure is damaged, residents can submit the form linked from Emergency Management. Treat those as the planning and reporting tools. When alerts, sirens, or responders are giving live instructions, follow the live official message first.
