Cape Girardeau County's commission meets at the 1908 courthouse

Cape Girardeau County’s commission page is a compact lesson in local geography. The county lists a presiding commissioner and two associate commissioners, and gives the commission office address at 100 Court Street in the Historic 1908 Courthouse in Jackson.

That matters because the county’s name points many newcomers toward Cape Girardeau, the river city. County government, though, is anchored in Jackson. The commission page also says the commission is in session at the courthouse on its regular meeting days.
