ATV permits are county-road paperwork

Ste. Genevieve County’s ATV/UTV permit form is a county-road document, not a blanket permission slip for every road. The permit application says the special permit is for operation on county roads in Ste. Genevieve County. Its requirements page says an ATV permit allows the ATV to be ridden on county roads, and does not allow it on state lettered roads, highways, or interstates.

That distinction matters in a county where lettered routes are part of normal rural navigation. Before riding, use the county clerk’s permit source and check the requirements on the current form.
