St. Charles County uses seven County Council districts

St. Charles County's legislative branch is a seven-member County Council, and the county GIS can look up a resident's district by address.

A St. Peters, O’Fallon, Wentzville, or St. Charles address can sit inside more than one layer of local government. St. Charles County’s legislative branch is the County Council, with seven members elected from seven council districts.

County Council is the place to think about when the question is county government: county ordinances, county services, county roads, county parks, or other countywide business. A city hall may still matter for a city street or city permit, but it is not the whole map.

The county’s “Find My District and Councilmember” tool uses the St. Charles County GIS map. Enter an address, turn on the “Voting Information” layer, and the district lookup does the sorting. In a county with several cities and special districts, that address check helps a resident avoid calling a city council member about a county issue, or calling the county about something a city or district controls.
