Emergency planning has both county and health-center layers

Shannon County emergency preparedness is not one office only; the Health Center participates in local emergency planning while SEMA lists county emergency-management contacts.

In Shannon County, emergency planning has more than one visible layer. The Shannon County Health Center says it is involved in emergency planning and preparedness work in the community. It also says it belongs to the Shannon County Local Emergency Planning Committee. The Health Center says it helps plan and exercise the Shannon County Emergency Operations Plan.

For emergency-management contacts, Missouri SEMA keeps a county page for Shannon County. SEMA says its county search lists emergency management directors or floodplain administrators. It also tells users to use the county representative if a city does not appear.

That split is useful during calm planning, not during an emergency call. Use 911 for immediate danger. Use the Health Center and SEMA pages to see who is part of local planning, public-health preparedness, floodplain routing, and emergency coordination before storm season.
