Waynesville is the seat; St. Robert grew up next to the gate

Newcomers often confuse where county government sits versus where the everyday services cluster; Waynesville holds the courthouse while St. Robert hugs the post entrance.

Pulaski County’s seat is Waynesville, where the courthouse and county offices like the assessor, collector, and recorder are located. St. Robert, the adjacent city, grew alongside the main entrance to Fort Leonard Wood and concentrates much of the commercial and service activity tied to the post. For a resident, that split means county business, recording a deed, settling personal property tax, often points to Waynesville, while a lot of day-to-day shopping and services sit in St. Robert. Both are incorporated cities with their own municipal governments layered on top of the county. Confirm a specific office’s current location and the city limits through the county portal and the city governments rather than assuming, since boundaries and office locations can change.
