Lake of the Ozarks / Osage Region
Miller County GIS is a starting point, not the final word
Miller County links residents to an official GIS map, but parcel-map information should be checked against assessor, recorder, and collector records before big decisions.
The map is a good first look, not the whole property answer.
Miller County links residents to a county GIS map, and the assessor maintains current ownership parcel maps. That makes GIS a useful starting point when you are trying to understand where a parcel sits near Tuscumbia, Eldon, Lake Ozark, or a rural road.
A parcel line on a web map is not the same as a recorded deed, a survey, a tax receipt, or a zoning or permitting answer. In a county with lake property, inland towns, rural tracts, and older roads, the thing you need may live in a different office.
Use GIS to get oriented. Then use the recorder for ownership and legal descriptions, the assessor for value and parcel-map questions, and the collector for payment or receipt status.
