Goose Creek puts public land near the Conway I-44 exit
MDC says Goose Creek Conservation Area has five tracts within eight miles of the I-44 Conway exit, adding a public-land layer to western Laclede County.
Goose Creek Conservation Area is one of those Laclede County places where the highway map and the outdoor map meet. MDC says the area totals 880.2 acres and consists of five tracts within eight miles of the I-44 Conway exit.
That makes Conway more than an exit name for someone reading the county page. The surrounding area includes scattered public-land tracts where hunting and wildlife viewing may be allowed under MDC rules.
Because the area is split into tracts, use MDC’s map before you go. A traveler or local resident should check the official area page for access, regulations, and which tract fits the trip.
