18th and Vine is a historic jazz district, not just an event label

Kansas City's official Revive the Vine materials and National Register documentation both point to 18th and Vine as a historic Black cultural and jazz district.

18th and Vine needs careful sources because it is both a living district and a historic record. Kansas City’s Revive the Vine page calls it the historic 18th and Vine Jazz District.

The National Register material hosted by Missouri State Parks gives the older history frame. It points to Kansas City jazz, Black commercial history, social buildings and organizations, and Black education in the 18th and Vine area.

For a visitor or local reader, split the jobs. Use KCMO for current district projects and public improvements. Use the National Register material when the question is why this part of Kansas City carries so much cultural weight.
