Pomme de Terre State Park has two units on the lake

Pomme de Terre State Park gives residents and visitors lake access, camping, and swimming on a Corps reservoir, with a state-parks layer on top of the federal lake.

Pomme de Terre State Park sits on Pomme de Terre Lake in Hickory County. The lake is a reservoir, which is a lake made by a dam. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (a federal agency) built the dam and runs the lake and its shoreline. Missouri State Parks runs the park grounds on top of the lake. The park usually offers boating, fishing, campsites, swimming beaches, and trails. It has more than one developed area, set on different parts of the lake. So the part you visit depends on which arm of the lake you want. If you are new here, the park is an easy way to picture the county’s lake fun. If you are visiting, it makes a handy base near Hermitage. Missouri State Parks is the best source for the park’s areas, things to do, and camping. Check current hours, open campsites, and any seasonal closings there before you go.
