Windsor is Henry County's rail-trail junction
At Windsor, Rock Island Trail State Park connects with Katy Trail State Park, making Henry County part of two state rail-trail corridors.
Clinton is already the Katy Trail bookend, but Windsor gives Henry County a second trail identity. Missouri State Parks says Rock Island Trail State Park runs from Pleasant Hill to Windsor, where it connects to Katy Trail State Park.
That makes Windsor a rail-trail junction rather than just another trail town. A visitor can read Henry County as a place where the Katy corridor and the Rock Island corridor meet. A resident near Windsor also has a practical reason to check State Parks before planning a ride, because State Parks separates the developed Rock Island section from undeveloped corridor that is not open for public use.
Use State Parks pages for trail conditions, maps, and rules instead of assuming every railroad corridor is open.
