The property search portal is an assessment lookup

Greene County's property search portal gives assessment history, property characteristics, and aerial imagery, but it is not the same as a recorded deed search.

A parcel lookup can answer one kind of property question and still leave another one open. Greene County’s Assessor property search portal is for assessment research. It gives online access to property characteristics, assessment history, and aerial imagery, which can help an owner or buyer see the county’s working description of a parcel.

That is different from proving what has been recorded. Deeds and other filed real-estate documents belong with the Recorder of Deeds. The Assessor portal is the place for parcel context, assessed information, and the county’s working description of the property.

When the question turns into a document question, shift lanes. The Recorder is the office for the recorded deed or other filed real-estate record.
