Belton keeps a working railroad museum on Walnut Street
Belton Historical Railroad gives Cass County a rail-history landmark tied to downtown Belton rather than a generic suburban park stop.
Belton has more rail texture than a highway map shows. Belton Historical Railroad gives the city a local railroad landmark on East Walnut Street, with directions that put visitors at the tracks near downtown Belton.
The railroad’s own FAQ lists its address as 502 East Walnut Street in Belton. The Belton, Grandview and Kansas City Railroad page also points visitors to the same Belton railroad organization and location.
For a Cass County reader, this is useful color because it explains why the county’s north end is not only a Kansas City commuter edge. Belton still has a visible rail-history thread, close to Main Street, that can shape a visitor’s sense of the city.
