Adair County personal property bills arrive late in the year

Adair County's collector page says personal property tax bills are mailed in the third week of November, so plate-renewal planning should not wait until the last minute.

Late-year tax mail can set the pace for vehicle paperwork.

Adair County personal property tax bills are mailed in the third week of November. That leaves a short, busy stretch for payment, receipt printing, and any license-bureau errand that needs proof of paid personal property tax.

If the bill looks right and the question is payment or receipt, the Collector is the place to start. If the vehicle, trailer, or personal-property list looks wrong, the Assessor may need to fix the record before the bill makes sense.

For Kirksville and the rest of the county, the practical move is to review the record early in the season. Waiting until the end of December can turn a simple receipt errand into a two-office problem.
